General Overview

Enjoy a wonderful private full-day tour to Cairo from Hurghada, the capital of one of the world’s most glorious empires. Visit the Great Pyramids, a place of contrasts where centuries of history collide with the present day. Spend a couple of hours of your life inside the Egyptian Museum in Cairo where lies the best collection of ancient antiquities together with the priceless contents found inside King Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Description of the itinerary

Cairo is a sprawling metropolis set along the banks of the Nile River. Characterized by Roman, Arab, and Ottoman architecture, it is known for its unparalleled ancient monuments, luxurious hotels, desert heat, and notorious traffic. Explore the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, the only surviving monuments of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then, dive into the ancient Egyptian history inside the Egyptian Museum.

Your unforgettable Cairo full-day tour starts when you are picked up a couple of hours after midnight at your hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle heading to Cairo. The way from Hurghada to Cairo may take up to a 5-hour drive along the Red Sea coast with beautiful views of the mountains at dawn.

Upon arrival to Cairo in the morning, meet your professional tour guide specialist in Egyptology who will accompany you throughout your tour. The first place to visit is Cairo’s most iconic landmark, the stunning Pyramids of Giza. Spend some time marveling at the Giza pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, and learn about the history of the place from your guide along the way. Wander through the Valley Temple where priests mummified the bodies of their kings. From the Valley Temple, take a close-up look at the world-famous Great Sphinx which guards the funeral complex with its lion’s body and the head of King Chephren. You may later have enough time to optionally entry to the Solar Boat Museum to see the legendary boat of the Pharaoh Cheops (for an extra charge) or to have a look inside the Great Pyramid or Small Pyramid (for an extra charge).

Around noon time, your guide will take you to one of the oriental restaurants in Cairo to enjoy a delicious lunch and taste real Egyptian food. Once you are feeling re-energized, continue your tour with your guide to the popular Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which accommodates the largest and most precious items of Egyptian artifacts, masterpieces, and mummies, including the treasures discovered inside the tomb of King Tutankhamen in 1920 by Howard Carter. Spend 2 hours wandering the galleries of the museum and exploring the glory of Ancient Egyptians, and if you will have enough time, don’t forget to visit the mummies room (for an extra charge) to learn more about mummification in ancient Egypt.

With the visit to the Egyptian Museum, your tour in Cairo comes to an end. Jump back into your air-conditioned vehicle, relax, and get ready for your return journey to your hotel in Hurghada.
